Xerox 4045 Printer

This appendix describes the features and fonts available for the

Xerox 4045 printer.

Features The Xerox 4045 printer features:

Downloaded or cartridge fonts. All fonts must be purchased

through Xerox.

Printer resident memory for graphics and font downloading.

The user may purchase a variable amount of memory for the

Xerox 4045; we recommend the maximum for use with fonts

and graphics.

through Xerox.

Before using cartridge fonts, you must inform CliqPage through

the font downloading scripts. See Appendix A in this manual for

details. This downloading/informing must be done for each font

and pointsize you plan to use. It is recommended that a script be

set up for every font and pointsize in the cartridge.

If you have purchased fonts in disk form from Xerox, they should

be loaded into the /xerox/raster directory within the fonts sub-

directory. Do not change the names of the original Xerox files.

The Xerox fonts are in MS-DOS format. Depending on your

computer system, a number of programs are available for direct

reading and/or transmittal of the data. Then download the needed

fonts to the printer.
